Woman Arrested For Human Trafficking
KATILIA SEYMOUR
Pinellas County Sheriff’s Of- fice detectives have arrested a woman for human trafficking of a minor.
Detectives said their inves- tigation began on October 20, 2016 when a 14-year-old fe- male victim informed them she was having sexual encoun- ters with men for money.
The victim told detectives she ran away from her home on October 2, 2016, and needed a place to stay when she was introduced to Katilia Seymour, 33.
Seymour reportedly rented a motel room for the victim, and in return the vic- tim agreed to engage in prosti- tution. Seymour also took photos of the victim wearing only panties and a tank top, and posted the images on the backpage.com webpage for the purpose of promoting prosti- tution, detectives said.
Detective said men re- sponded to the advertisements and each paid $180 to have sex with the victim. Seymour reportedly would collect more than half of the money for her- self.
Detectives were able to cor- roborate the victim’s allega- tions, and on October 28th, detectives interviewed Sey- mour before she was charged with human trafficking of a child under 18.
The victim is now in the care of the Florida Depart- ment of Children and Fami- lies.
