  Tampa Alumni Chapter Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Elects New Polemarch
 Collis H. Ivery, III was elected as Polemarch (presi- dent) of the Tampa Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. without op- position. Leading is some- thing that has come naturally for the former military now Spoto High School Mathe- matics instructor.
Ivery and the new offi- cers were installed at the monthly business meeting June 26th as the chapter be- gins preparation for the or- ganization’s 86th Grand Board Meeting (national convention) which is coming to Tampa in the summer of 2023.
Along with Ivery, other
officers elected were: Fred Dudley (Vice Polemarch), Collis Ivery, IV (Keeper of Records), Frank McLen- don (Assistant Keeper of Records), Marcus Sloan (Keeper of Exchequer/Trea- surer), Fred Robinson (As- sistant Keeper of Exchequer), Darrell X. Johnson (Strategus), Ariel Moise (Lieutenant Strate- gus), Rick Brown (Re- porter), Morris Kilpatrick (Historian) and Albert Coleman (Chair of Mem- bership Training Academy).
The chapter also elected members to its board of di- rectors: Bianco Berry, Tim Holleman, Reginald
Linebarger and Clinton Paris. Outgoing Polemarch Roland Daniels will be the fifth member of the board.
Whether it’s teaching stu- dents Calculus or leading a chapter project, leading has been a staple of Ivery’s life.
Ivery was initiated into Kappa in 1978 at the Beta Zeta Chapter at Alabama State University, where he held positions as the Keeper of Records and Polemarch, while earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics in 1980. He also was awarded the Guy Levis Grant Award, the highest award be- stowed among undergradu- ate members of Kappa Alpha
leadership, and meritorious achievement in school, as well as in the local commu- nity or region.
He was also named Pole- march of the Fort Walton Beach Alumni Chapter and has held office in stops with the San Antonio Alumni Chapter and Alexander-Fair- fax (VA) Alumni Chapter.
He has served the last two years as Vice Polemarch with Tampa Alumni.
While serving in the United States Air Force, Ivery, III rose to Lt. Colonel and also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engi- neering from the Air Force Institution of Technology. Later, he earned his Master’s degree in Electrical Engi- neering from the University of Dayton.
Ivery and his wife of 39 years, Rhonda have two adult children, Collis Ivery, IV and Jasmyne.
