Protesters Hang Sign Over White House
Inmate That Had Sentence Commuted By Former President Obama Is Murdered
A former gang member saw his prison sentence com- muted by then-President Obama in November—only to be killed almost exactly two months later.
Demarlon Thomas, 31, was transitioning out of the federal prison system in a Saginaw, Mich., halfway house after having his sen- tence commuted Nov. 22.
Two masked gunmen brandishing	assault-style weapons sought out and killed Thomas, a former member of Saginaw’s Sunny Side Gang, at that halfway

house Monday night, reports MLive. "They were looking for this person," a Michigan State Police officer says, de- scribing the shooting as exe- cution-style.
One gunman shot Thomas numerous times, while the other held 23 others at gun- point; ultimately, no one else was injured. "I think it was connected one way or an- other to the gang he was from or a rival gang," the officer tells Michigan Radio.
The suspects are still at large.
Seven environmental activists climbed a crane near the White House early Wednesday morning in a protest against the policies of President Trump, according to Greenpeace.
The protesters, all trained climbers, began scaling the approx- imately 300-foot crane around 4 in the morning, and once they reached the top, unfurled a 70 by 35-foot banner embossed with a single word: “RESIST.
Travis Nichols, a spokesman for Greenpeace, the environmen- tal advocacy organization for which the activists were volunteer- ing, said the protesters were there “to resist the environmental, economic and racial injustice that Trump and his administration have already laid out and put into practice.”
In his first week in office, Trump’s administration instructed of- ficials at the Environmental Protection Agency to freeze grants and contracts, and, according to Reuters, ordered the agency to remove the climate change page from its website.
President Donald Trump named his son-in-law, Jared Kushner as his top adviser. However, Jared’s brother, Joshua was cap- tured at the Women’s March. Joshua is wearing the glasses. Fam- ily differences are obvious.
Republicans Laying Out Plans To Repeal/ Revise Obamacare
Republican Sen. Rand Paul has released an Oba- macare repeal plan that would do away with the indi- vidual mandate, the ban on insurance companies deny- ing coverage for people with pre-existing conditions, and the essential health benefit requirements for insurance plans.
Paul’s plan would essen- tially strip away the entire health system set up by the Affordable Care Act and re- place it with tax credits, pri- vate health savings accounts and a heavily deregulated in- surance market.
It stands in sharp contrast to the recently released re- peal plan from a group of moderate Republican sena- tors that would keep the taxes and expenses of the ACA, and

would even let states choose to stay in Obamacare if they prefer it.
Paul will likely have a hard time winning support for his plan from Democrats, who have vigorously opposed sim- ilar proposals, and even some
Republicans because it does away with the ban on denying insurance to people because of pre-existing conditions.
President	Donald Trump and other Republi- cans had promised to keep that provision in place.

The Wall Will Go Up
President Donald Trump signed two executive orders at the Department of Homeland Security Wednes- day that will begin construc- tion of a wall along the US-Mexico border and strip funding for sanctuary cities.
The first order is to “build a large physical barrier on the southern border,” press sec- retary Sean Spicer said.
“This will stem the flow of drugs, crime, illegal immigra- tion into the United States and, yes, one way or another as the president has said be- fore, Mexico will pay for it.”
Construction of the wall will begin in months, Trump told ABC News in an inter- view. He insisted that Mexico would reimburse the U. S. “100 percent.”
