ESPN Says Boxer
Colin Kaepernick Has Trademarked His Face And Afro
COLIN KAEPERNICK
Colin Kaepernick hasn’t played in the NFL since 2016, however that hasn’t stopped the former quarterback from col- lecting coins.
Kaep has filed to trademark a black-and-white image of his face and full Afro because...coins.
The filing, which took place last Friday appeared on the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states the image can be used on shampoos, hairspray, jewelry, and lampshades.
The filing also says the image can be used with “provid- ing classes, workshops, semi- nars and camps in the field of self-empowerment and aware- ness to properly interact with law enforcement” as well as in association with “production of television shows and films.”
3 Rings Later, Stephen Curry Remains Heart And Soul Of Golden State Warriors

Opening
night in the
NBA is always
special. For the
Golden State
Warriors, this
one had even
more to it. As
they received
their champi-
onship rings ahead of a 108- 100 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday at Oracle Arena, it was hard to avoid recalling the days when Kevin Durant was still on the Thunder and the Warriors were just a regular superteam.
"It's special," Stephen Curry said of the banner cer- emony. "I remember looking up there, and there was only Philadelphia banners, and the '74-'75 team. Coming into Or- acle every night, in our prac- tice facility, you look up on the walls and you see the champi- onship banners that we brought back to the Bay. It's amazing. You reminisce on the
journey in those moments. Obviously, we're still trying to go for more. It's really hard in terms of putting it all into per- spective, but nights like tonight are where you sit back and feel really proud about what you accomplished."
Warriors Celebrate NBA Title With Reversible Rings
The Golden State Warriors celebrated Ring Night in style prior to their regular-season opener on Tuesday night.
The top of each ring is re- versible. Seventy-four sap- phires on the "blue" side represent the number of wins (regular season and playoff) by the Warriors last season. On the "white" side, 74 diamonds represent the win total.
The Warriors' mantra, "Strength in Numbers," is re- vealed when the ring's top is twisted off.
WBC heavyweight cham- pion Deontay Wilder apolo- gized Sunday after it was widely reported that he broke an ESPN mascot performer’s jaw on live TV.
But the 40-0 boxer can rest easy: ESPN says that the per- former is just fine.
Wilder wanted to show- off how hard he can deliver a punch, so he punched the mas- cot, knocking it to the floor with a powerful right hand.
Following Wilder’s apol- ogy, ESPN reported that “no injury was caused” during the segment.
Wilder was wrapping up a press tour ahead of his fight Fury in Los Angeles on De- cember 1st.
The 32-year-old Alabama native is unbeaten in 40 pro- fessional fights, with 39 wins coming by knockout.
Fury, 30, is also unbeaten

in his 27-fight professional ca- reer.
The Englishman is on the comeback trail after having more than two years out of the ring following his win over Wladimir Klitschko in late 2015.
Fury has two wins in 2018, with the winner of that fight likely to take on WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO champ Anthony Joshua in a unifi- cation bout.
