Foods To Help You Breathe Easier
There is no special diet for asthma; however, a diet rich in vitamin C, vitamin E, flavonoids, magnesium and omega-3 fatty acids may lower the risk of asthma.
Furthermore, here are five foods that will help you breathe easier so that you start feeling your best.
1. Apples. We’ve all heard of the saying, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” right? Well, how about “an apple a day keeps the asthma away”? According to a British study, people who ate two to five apples per week lowered their risk of asthma by 32%.
2. Kale, red peppers,
strawberries. Fruits and
vegetables loaded with vita-
min C are believed to reduce
asthma symptoms, especially when they’re brought on by ex- ercise.
3. Avocadoes. Packed with antioxidants, av- ocadoes are just as versatile as they are good for you. Due to their high concentration of glu- tathione, avocadoes help empty out the pollutants from the body, allowing you to breathe much eas- ier.
4. Flax seeds. For extra relief, try adding flax seeds to your meals. These little guys con- tain high amounts of potassium and magne- sium – two minerals that naturally fight off asthma. And because they’re loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, they work to reduce lung inflammation. Omega-3s can be found in salmon, red peppers and walnuts.
5. Coffee. OK, so this isn’t technically a food, but who doesn’t love coffee? Plus, the health benefits of coffee seem to be never-ending, don’t you think? Accord- ing to a study caffeinated coffee improves your airflow for up to four hours, natu- rally alleviating your asthma symptoms, such as coughing and wheezing.
If you’re wondering why your doctor won’t surgically remove the fibroids before they be- come a problem, it’s because doing so can also put your chances of motherhood at risk. So, the sooner you start balancing your hormones, the better. Here are a few ways to start healing now:
Change your diet to improve your es- trogen metabolism. Your liver naturally eliminates toxins and you need to eat in a way that allows it to efficiently purge excess estro- gen. Veggies like avocados, carrots, broccoli, spinach, apples, asparagus, and melon are
great, natural liver detoxifiers.
Eliminate exposure. Chemicals lurk all
over our homes and we need to get rid of them. Stop sitting all day. Try not to sit for long periods of time and take breaks to move — reg- ular movement that targets your pelvic area will help to heal hormonal issues like fibroids by al-
lowing circulation back to your uterus.
Try uterine massage. A masseuse special- ized in Mayan abdominal massage can help im- prove blood flow and circulation to the
reproductive organs and break up adhesions.
Could It Be A Sinus Infection?
Many cold and sinus infection symptoms make it difficult to determine the problem. Take the following symptoms for example:
Cold Symptoms: • Usually lasts 5 days or less.
• Sore throat, • Coughing,
• Stuffy nose, • Sneezing,
• Fatigue, or • Headache.
Sinus Infection Symptoms
• Usually lasts 5 days or more, • Thick yellow or green mucus, • Dizziness,
• Excessive coughing,
• Fatigue,
• Runny, stuffy nose,
• Headache,
• Fever, or
• Facial pain – behind your eyes, forehead,
teeth or cheekbones.
So, how can you tell if you haveacoldora sinus infection? The main dif- ference be- tween the two is the duration of symptoms and the inten- sity of those symptoms.
As mentioned
earlier, a cold will usually go away within five days or less with the help of over-the-counter medications, plenty of rest and don’t underes- timate the power of good ole chicken noodle soup. A sinus infection, on the other hand, will last longer than five days and may require you to see a doctor. Most of the time, antibiotics will do the job, but sinus irrigation and decon- gestants can also help ease your symptoms.
