PHILADELPHIA -- Jameis Winston sliced his way through the Philadelphia Ea- gles' defense on his way to a record-setting afternoon.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback threw five touch- downs to five different re- ceivers and tied the NFL record for scoring passes in a single game by a rookie as the Bucs obliterated the Eagles 45- 17 at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.
Winston finished 19-for-29 for 246 yards with a passer rat- ing of 131.6, as the Bucs evened their record at 5-5 and won consecutive games for the first time since 2013.
Lost in Winston's heroics was the stellar effort by run- ning back Doug Martin, who rushed for 235 yards on 27 carries, marking the third- highest yardage total for a
back against the Eagles all time.
The Buccaneers hadn't en- joyed a winning streak since Weeks 10-12 in 2013, the longest active stretch in the league. After a slow start this season, getting back to .500 should provide a major boost of confidence to such a young team.
Tampa Bay travels to Indi- anapolis next week before back-to-back home games against the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints. After a trip to St. Louis, the Bucca- neers host the Chicago Bears and finish the regular season at Carolina. It's not an easy stretch, but this team is trend- ing upward with six games left. The Buccaneers are 4-2 in the past six games and clearly look like a different team than the one that opened the season.
This Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be on the road again, this time traveling to the mid-west to challenge Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts.
The Bucs are coming off their biggest win of the season, with record setting performances by Jameis Winston and Doug Martin.
With a 45-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, the Bucs are now 5-5, in the playoff race, and finished their four-game set against the NFC East 2-2.
Winston set a rookie fran- chise record with five touch- down passes, and an NFL record for being a rookie with 5 touchdown passes in one game. Martin rushed for 235 yards, one of them an 84-yard burst, the longest in franchise history.
It quickly became evident that Winston was a lot more relaxed with both of his 6’5” wide receivers on the field, Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans.
But, the offense didn’t steal the whole show. The defense stepped up with linebacker Lavonte David picking off a pair of Mark Sanchez passes, returning one of them for a touchdown.
Head Coach Lovie Smith, entering his second year, was skeptical after the team started the season 1-4. However, the Bucs have rebounded, winning 4 of their last 5 games.
The Buccaneer offense racked up 521 total yards, and the defense forced three take- aways, and held an opponent to 17 points or less for the second straight week.
In Sunday’s contest against the Colts, the Bucs will face a stiff challenge against a team desperate for a win and to keep pace with a tough AFC Central division.

Last Saturday, the Skyway in Town ’N Country was the place to be for the Tampa Bay Youth Football League’s 2015 Super Bowl games. The teams were pumped up and the full capacity, standing room only crowd was full of enthusiasm!
During Saturday’s game, Tonia Turner, an employee of the Florida Sentinel Bulletin employee and grandmother of Henry Crockett V (#37 on the Pee Wee Squad) talked with the coaches who insisted that whether the teams won or loss, the best part of being a coach was seeing the kids doing something constructive and positive with their lives.
During the season, the coaches not only supported the squad on the field, but off the field, too. They provided books for the kids to read, mentoring when needed and continued emphasis on the importance of education.
The first game of the day set the tone for the day as the

Jaguars beat the Colts with a final score of 19 to 6. The coaches for the Pee Wee squad are: C. J., Joe, T. J., K. J., Reggie, Merle, J. Tyson, D. Tyson and Pookie.
The second game proved that the Jags were in the house, with the Super Midgets Squad beating the 49ers with a final score of 30-0. The Jags Midget and Varsity teams played their hearts out, and re- ceived the runner-up trophies. Overall, the camaraderie on and off the field made the en- tire day a worthy endeavor.
Jets' Darrelle Revis Suffers Injury
HOUSTON -- Cornerback Darrelle Revis and center Nick Mangold -- two of the New York Jets' best players -- suffered injuries in the team's 24-17 loss to the Houston Tex- ans on Sunday.
Revis suffered a concussion in the third quarter while tack- ling Texans running back Akeem Hunt. He walked slowly off the field and was taken to the locker room for tests. He didn't return and will be in the NFL's concussion protocol in the coming days.
Mangold required stitches in his right (snapping) hand after sustaining a "severe lac- eration" in the second quarter, coach Todd Bowles said.
Mangold, who didn't re- turn to the game, will have an MRI on Monday to see if there's any ligament and/or tendon damage. X-rays were negative. The cut is located be-

tween his pinky and ring fin- ger. He has no idea how it hap- pened.
"I came to the sideline and I saw some blood," he said. "I looked down and that's when we went inside. ... It was com- pletely random. I haven't seen anything like this before. This is a new one."
