Receptive Audience At The Straz For Christmas Musical
The First Baptist Church of College Hill presented The Christmas Post, a “Dramatic Musical” in Ferguson Hall at the Straz on Sunday, Decem- ber 18, 2016.
The Christmas Post was set in the 1940s and gave the picture of how many are more interested in the almighty dollar. The cast made an effort to help mem- bers of the audience redis- cover the true meaning of Christmas.
Dea. Ernest Lockly, the Captain of the ship, played Mr. Herzog, the owner of the department store in the city of Homesboro. He fo- cuses on, “The Green Stuff,” one of many songs in the play.
Alice, played by Pavonne Scott and her daughter, Katie, played by Nahla Reed, are making an effort to work at making enough money to buy gifts for each other for Christ- mas. Pavonne and Nahla sing “A Little More Christ- mas” with a Broadway style performance that left the au- dience in deep thought about the true meaning of Christmas.
Rev. Dr. Evan Bur- rows, pastor of FBCCH, Geri Kelly, the Director, Beryl Colbert, the Dance Choreographer and Windell Roberson want to thank a receptive audi- ence for making their 2nd show in Ferguson Hall at the Straz Center a success. (Photographs by Fred Harris and Julia Jack- son)
