Shooter Gets 25 Years
Two Killed, One Critical In Separate Shootings
In Death Of 14-Year-Old
JOSEPH HUGGINS, JR. ... Sentenced to 25 years in prison
During the month of March 2015, the Tampa Police Department investigated the shooting deaths of two 14- year-old youths. One of the cases remains open, but police arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the other shooting.
On Monday, Joseph Huggins, Jr., 23, pleaded guilty to second-degree mur- der, and being a felon in pos- session of a firearm. He was sentenced to 25 years in

On March 21, 2015,
Richard Newton was at- tending a birthday party in Sulphur Springs when a fight broke out. As the fight esca- lated, shots were fired and Newton was struck by a bul- let and died as a result of his injuries.
The investigation led police to Huggins, who was arrested on October 19, 2015 and charged with second-degree murder in the case.

St. Petersburg Police are investigating two separate shooting incidents that left two men dead.
On Tuesday at 10:18 p. m., police said 25-year-old Lerry Danny Marius was brought to Bayfront Health with a gunshot wound.
He was later pronounced dead.

At 11 p. m., police said their dispatcher received a call about two men shot in a car at 9th Avenue North and 37th Street near the library.
On Wednesday, one of the men, Mark Pointer, 25, died as a result of his wounds.

The other victim, Julius Buchanan, 28, is in critical condition.
During their investiga- tion, detectives were able to locate and arrest Neville Allen Chambers, 21, and charge him with first-degree murder.
Detectives are still actively looking for a second suspect in the shootings.
Suspect Sought In Circle K Robbery
Florida State Student Stabbed Couple, Bit Dead Man’s Face
On August 15th at 1:21 a. m., Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies reported that a Black male entered Circle K, 5108 Glen Harwell Road in Plant City. He reportedly approached the counter and displayed a handgun as he demanded money from the register.
Deputies said the clerk complied and the suspect fled in a dark colored hatchback ve-
hicle.
The suspect is described as
5’7” tall, weighing 160 pounds, appearing to be 20 to 23-years- old, and was last seen wearing a red or maroon shirt, gray shorts, and dark colored sneak- ers.

On Monday, authorities said a 19-year-old Florida State University student, with no criminal record, stabbed a couple outside their home, wounded their neighbor and was biting the dead man’s face before deputies were able to subdue him.
Woman Indicted On Second Bank Robbery Charge
A Brooksville woman, al- ready in jail on a bank robbery charge, has been indicted for a second crime. She was ar- rested last month in connec- tion with a bank robbery in Plant City.
According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, shortly before closing on March 24, 2015, a woman walked into the Brannen Bank in Floral City and spoke to employees about opening an account.
After being told the bank was about to close, the woman pulled a firearm and placed the employees in the vault. She took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene.
In February 2016, a bank in Plant City was robbed by a suspect fitting the same de- scription and the same method of operation. The Fed- eral Bureau of Investigation took the lead in both investi- gations.
