FAMU Named On Forbes List Of Top Colleges In The U. S.
President Obama’s Approval Rating Climbing As His Presidency Ends
PRESIDENT OBAMA
President Obama’s job ap- proval ratings have been climb- ing of late. The president crossed the 50 percent approval threshold back in March for the first time since 2013, and he’s
on track to finish his final term with a majority of Americans approving of the job he is doing.1 It’s only a slight major- ity, but that still looks pretty good compared with the ap- proval ratings of other presi- dents since the end of World War II.
Presidents’ approval ratings tend to go up once they reach lame-duck status, after their successor is picked but before Inauguration Day. So it’s possi- ble that Obama’s approval rat- ings, already pretty decent, will tick up several points before he officially leaves office.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida Agricultural and Me- chanical University (FAMU) has once again been listed among “America’s Top Col- leges” by Forbes Magazine. The Magazine’s release of its annual rankings also reveals that FAMU not only returned on its list of best colleges in the South, but also now ap- pears on its lists for best re- search universities and best public colleges.
Universities and colleges appearing on the Forbes lists are recognized for providing their students with the best return-on-investment.
“America’s Top Colleges” are judged in such categories as student satisfaction, post- graduate success, academic success, career success, na- tionally competitive awards, student debt, retention, and graduation rates.
The ranking system was prepared exclusively for Forbes by the Center for Col- lege Affordability and Produc- tivity, a Washington, D. C., think tank founded by Ohio University economist, Richard Vedder.
“The University is excited to be recognized among the nation’s top universities,” said President Elmira Mangum, Ph.D. “The additional recog- nition as a best college in the
South, and the acknowledg- ment of our work as a re- search institution and public university speaks volumes about the united efforts of the FAMU community to move forward in realizing our vision of being a best-in-class uni- versity with a global impact.”

President Says He’s Tired Of Talking About Trump
President Obama took a brief break from his 16-day va- cation on Martha’s Vineyard to attend a Democratic National Committee fundraiser on the is- land, where he made a strong case for Hillary Clinton as he seemed to brush off Donald Trump.
“Frankly, I’m tired of talking about her opponent,” Obama said. “I don’t have to make the case against her opponent be- cause every time he talks, he makes the case against his own candidacy.”
However, the President

warned Democrats in the room against becoming too cozy with the positive poll numbers as of late, saying it has been an un- predictable election season.
