Floridians Granted Clemency
President Pardons 1, Commutes Sentence Of 2 Hillsborough County Residents

On Monday, President Barack Obama granted clemency to 231 deserving individuals. It was the most individual acts of clemency granted in a single day by any president in this nation’s history.
Four of the 78 sentences that President Obama pardoned included Karim Riad Georgy, and Christopher Muratore, of Tampa.
Georgy convicted of acquiring and possess- ing controlled substances by fraud, deception or subterfuge. The terms of the pardon is 3 years probation, a fine $1,500, and restitution of $1,000. Georgy was sentenced in Novem- ber 2001.
Muratore was convicted in November 2001 of devising a scheme to defraud the U. S. government of money and property, and devis- ing a scheme to deprive the U. S. Bankruptcy Court of honest services.
His pardon includes 36 months of probation that includes six-months home detention. He must also pay $107,850 in restitution.
President Obama also pardoned
President Barack Obama has granted clemency to 1,324 federal prisoners.
Richard Allen Graham, of Callahan and Adam Philip Ricciardiello, of Naples.
The 153 people whose sentences were com- muted included 17 from Florida, including Darryl Jerome Baker, of Seffner.
Baker was convicted of of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute five kilo- grams or more of cocaine and 50 grams or more of cocaine base. He was sentenced to life imprisonment, followed by 10 years of super-
vised release.
President Obama commuted Baker’s
sentence to 360 months (30 years) in prison With the latest round of commutations, President Obama has reduced the sentences of 1,176 people, 395 of which were facing life im-
prisonment.
He has also pardoned 148 people, offering
a second chance to a total of 1,324 federal pris- oners.
Other Floridians who are recipients of President Obama’s clemency include: Handy Bailey, Jr., Orlando; Willie Brazille, Pensacola; Maurice Davon Cawthon, Milton; Theartis Daniels, Punta Gorda; Samuel Stevens Farmer, Madison; Gregory Hall, Alachua; Charles B. Harri- son, Lecanto; Cheryl Howard, Sarasota; Walter Byron Lewis, Jacksonville; Daniel L. Morgan, Opa Locka; Chad Christopher Pyne, Panama City Beach; Delanjun L. Rogers, Panama City; Raphael Maurice Tinsley, Panama City; Lafayette Maurice Washington, Panama City; Jaycee Williams, Jr., Panama City; and Michael Antwan Zone, Melbourne.
