Throughout the year people open their hearts to help oth- ers. But during the month of December, giving back is un- rivaled.
For more than 30 years, the Feed Our Children Ministries, Inc., has given back to the community as part of its mis- sion. But, on many occasions the needs of the community were greater than the re- sources on hand.
And that was the situation recently as families submitted requests for assistance during the Christmas holidays.
Pastor Moses Brown, founder of Feed Our Children Ministries, Inc., said, “We re- ceived many requests during the Christmas season from numerous households who just want to have a nice Christmas for their children. But due to unforeseen cir- cumstances, they are unable to make those wishes come true.
“That’s when the generos- ity of local sponsors came to- gether and made Christmas dreams a reality for families in need through Feed Our Children Ministries, Inc.”
Ms. Donyel Crews
prayed that God would pro- vide the means for her to get gifts for her five children this year. After she learned that Pastor Brown might be able to help, she texted him and made him aware of her situation, hoping that her children wouldn’t have to be without a Christmas this year.
“When members of Beta Sigma Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., learned that Pastor Brown needed gifts for special fami- lies, their organization came forward joining others and met the urgent need to make sure Christmas wouldn’t just be another day on the calen- dar for the children in our community,” Pastor Brown said.
Toys from the Zeta House brought about joy in the Crews house. Although Christmas is very close, Pas- tor Brown is extending an offer to help to a few more families.
“That’s what Christmas is all about --- making His birth meaningful by showing the love of Jesus Christ to one an- other,” Pastor Brown said.
