Rose Briar Place
CHOOSING a place to stay
Haven’t had time to think about where your out-of-town family will stay? We understand. Here are some reasons we recommend the same level of care & intentionality that you and your fiancé put into the details of your ceremony, should also go into selecting the lodging experience for your parents, siblings & grandparents (or whoever you consider part of your forever family unit) as they travel to attend your wedding week activities.
Consider What Your Big Day Means to Them...
Your closest family and friends will go through a lot of emotion, effort, excitement and expense in the process of sharing in your momentous occasion. They will often come in town several days early and/or stay late to help prepare and spend special moments with the bride and groom. Some of your immediate family members have dreamt of this moment, often long before the bride & groom even met!
As such, how do you make your special day this extra special for them, too? Should the bride & groom provide them with a welcome gift basket, list of things to do in the area? You want to create an experience that they will cherish for the rest of their lives.
Pro Tip: While rare and unique, a few lodging rental properties provide some of these unique amenities as a standard. Ask if the properties are wedding weekend experienced vs. a national catch all for in and out lodging.
Convenience For Them Means Convenience for You...
Should your guests stay near your house/apartment, near the venue, near the airport or centrally located?
You may consider having your family stay together in close proximity to your location. This lets you maximize your final single person days with them, or if they haven’t spent much time with your fiancé, it creates opportunities for bonding time.
Still thinking over location? Your family and honored guests may decide to make a personal vacation out of your wedding weekend. How wonderful would it be to situate them close to Downtown/Bricktown. . .or Chisolm Creek. . .or maybe Uptown or the National Heritage Cowboy Hall of Fame, Science Center or the Zoo. Be creative!
Pro Tip: The benefits of group lodging aren’t just for out of towners. A lovely staycation is always in order. This eliminates the stress of wondering if mom and the bridal part are in a traffic jam when the final touches are needed on your bouquet. Hello, game night with crafting included. Efficiency can be fun.
