About Us
Here at Hoyt Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, we offer a beautifully updated chapel for the comfort of the families we serve-whether it’s a funeral burial or a cremation service in Norwalk or surrounding towns including Westport, Wilton, Weston, Georgetown, or Redding. Our chapel can accommodate both large and small gatherings. For large families or public figureheads, our two chapels convert into one, offering seating for up to 175 people comfortably. All of our chapels whether independently used or combined, offer plenty of seating.
We are the only funeral home in Fairfield County that embarked on an enormous financial undertaking by building a private crematorium. What does this mean to you? We want our families to feel confident that we have our own local crematory handle all of our cremation needs.
Our History
For 138 years, this funeral home has stood as a tribute to those who have come before us and labored to create this city, and Hoyt Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory pay tribute to them and their families by offering a gracious home-like atmosphere where those memories can be shared.
Formerly Raymond Funeral Home, owners Thomas A. Cicalese (owner of Hoyt Funeral Home of New Canaan) and Nicholas F. Cognetta, Jr. (owner of The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory of Stamford) purchased the oldest existing funeral home in Norwalk and continue the tradition today of serving the City of Norwalk and its surrounding communities with only one goal in mind: To offer uncompromising, professional and dignified service to the families in which they serve, that is second to none.
Additionally, we are the only funeral home in Fairfield County that houses
