Our family owned and operated Funeral Home was founded in 1927 by the the brothers McCorry Raymond Raymond and Clarence Raymond’s son Vincent P McCorry assumed owner/operator responsibilities upon his father’s death in in in 1981 As did Vincent’s wife Ann in in in 1991 Paul McCorry is third generation owner/ operator and and continues to to carry on on on on our family’s values and and traditions which has served the neighboring communities for almost 90 years We have three spacious chapels and ample seating in in in our lounge downstairs Parking is adequate with several covered spaces underground providing shelter from the elements We We are are also fully handicapped accessible We We are are prideful of our our independence and and strive to honor your loved one’s service with the the utmost compassion and integrity We treat treat others as as as we would expect to be treated with love honor and compassion Our History
For a a a a a a a start when Raymond and Clarence McCorry opened for business it was a a a a a a a a a simple storefront not the the large funeral parlor on on on Anderson Avenue that the the the brothers opened in in in 1942 “Predominantly the the the funerals were done in in in the the the residence ” said Paul McCorry Raymond’s grandson Instead of taking the deceased to a a a a a a a a a a a funeral home home for embalming and viewing it was done in in in the the home home That first year McCorry McCorry Brothers performed just shy of 300 funerals McCorry McCorry said At the the the time it was one of the the the the only funeral funeral homes in the the the area and also served as as the the the Bergen County morgue McCorry doesn’t know what inspired the the brothers to to go into business but says his other other great-uncle the the the Rev Vincent McCorry a a a a well-known Jesuit priest might have had something to do with it it Most funeral homes sprang up out of related businesses such as as florists or or livery stables back when the hearse was drawn by a a a a horse Page 4 - McCorry Brothers Funeral Home McCorry Brothers Funeral Home - Page
