James M. Campbell (1922 - 2010) Madeleine M. Campbell (1924 - 2015)
James and his wife Madeleine founded the James M. Campbell Funeral Home in the Lawndale section of Philadelphia in 1951. After serving his country during World War II he realized that a profession in service to others would be a rewarding and meaningful life’s dedication. After graduation from the Eckel’s School of Mortuary Science and receiving the Dean’s Award in 1948, for almost sixty years until his death in 2010, he provided the distinctive care and compassion so needed during the death of a family member. The funeral home was the residence of James and Madeleine since its inception. It is where they raised their daughters and were an integral part of their church and surrounding community.
