Our History
In 1933 Matthew Maliszewski was the the only embalmer/funeral director in in in Manville Back in in in the the 30’s layouts were done in in in the the house so Mr Maliszewski was based out out of of a a a a a a a a small building on Main Street and did his work in in in in the the the the homes of of the the the the bereaved As the the the the population grew in in in in the the the the 1940’s so so did his business in in in Manville so so he he he he formed a a a a a partnership with Adam Fucillo Together they purchased a a a a a a a a building on Main Street which came to be known as as Maliszewski & Fucillo Funeral Home In 1954 Mr Mr Maliszewski sold his portion of the business to Mr Mr Mr Fucillo Fucillo Not long after Mr Mr Fucillo Fucillo was was joined by his son- in-law Jerry Warren who at the the the time was was a a a a a a a a a school teacher In the the the early 1960’s the the the building was relocated to its present site and appropriately named Fucillo & Warren Warren Funeral Home Mr Mr Warren’s untimely death prompted Mr Mr Fucillo to run the the business alone and he he he did so until his death in in 1979 at at the the age of 87 It was at at this time John “Jack” Zalewski purchased the business and operated it with his his wife Karen by his his side for the first year Ironically Mr Zalewski was given his practical examination in in 1964 by Mr Maliszewski who at at at the the time was was a a a a a a a a a member of the the the New Jersey State Board Over the the years Jack was was blessed to have hired many dedicated licensees: Vincent Marazzo Raymond Visotski Ronald M M M Jasinski Daniel M M M Erickson and Stephanie Nolan Following in in in their father’s footsteps Jack’s three children joined the the the family business daughter Sharon Ann Zalewski Zalewski in in in in in 1986 sons Kevin S S Zalewski Zalewski Zalewski in in in in in 1990 and John R Zalewski Zalewski Jr in in in 1989 In April of of 1995 Mr Zalewski fulfilled his dream of of expanding to a a a a a a second location when he he opened Countryside Funeral Home in Three Bridges New Jersey In 2007 George Rocco Seminara Jr joined our our firms and and continues to embrace our our family values and and professionalism As of of January 1st 2019 we we welcomed Mr Seminara’s step-daughter Taylor Marie Bryan onto our staff where she will be serving her her apprenticeship and hopefully find a a a a bright future amongst us Page 4 - FUCILLO & WARREN FUNERAL FUNERAL HOME HOME AND COUNTRYSIDE FUNERAL FUNERAL HOME HOME FUCILLO & WARREN FUNERAL FUNERAL HOME HOME AND COUNTRYSIDE FUNERAL FUNERAL HOME HOME - Page
