Preplanning/Planning Ahead
Preplanning your funeral will make certain that your choices are known, without leaving your family to wonder what your wishes might have been.
Preplanning a funeral has many benefits. To start, preplanning provides you and your family with guidance. When you are ready you can call us and one of our directors will be happy to sit down with you to discuss the many options that are available and help you select the remembrance that is right for you and your family.
Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home is proud to be a member of the New Jersey State Funeral Directors Association, and a participating member in Choices, the New Jersey Prepaid Funeral Trust Fund.
Should you choose to pre-fund your funeral arrangement, your money will be placed in trust in a Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insured account. Depending on your
circumstances you will either open a revocable or irrevocable account.
Trusted moneys in revocable accounts are 100% refundable on demand by the purchaser and with interest. You may change the funeral home and the selected funeral services or merchandise at any time without penalty. Irrevocable trust accounts, established only for individuals on or applying for SSI/Medicaid and General Assistance benefits are non- refundable, but the money is still FDIC insured and transferable.
We are also proud to be one of the first funeral homes in the country to use Funeral Matters. As Funeral Matters professionals, we recognize the many difficulties surrounding preplanning and the frustration that often comes in understanding the many funeral options and prices available.
Funeral Matters lays out this information in an easy to understand manner.
Some of the benefits in using Funeral Matters is the ability to build different versions of what you would like,
