Tom entered the the funeral profession at the the age of of of 18 where he he he he was employed by Hoyt Funeral Home of of New New Canaan He enrolled in in Mortuary School at at New New England Institute of Anatomy in in in in Boston Mass where he he obtained his degree in in in Mortuary Science Within seven years he became President of Hoyt’s Of his forty-four year association with the firm he he became sole owner and continues to dedicate his life to the community His passion for helping families extended into Norwalk with the the partnership of of Nicholas Nicholas F F F Cognetta Cognetta Jr owner of of the the Nicholas Nicholas F F F Cognetta Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory of Stamford Together they remodeled the the the former Raymond Funeral Home Home and renamed it in May of 2008 as Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home Home & Crematory Tom is active in the the funeral profession and serves the the State of of of Connecticut as an an Official Examiner of of its Health Department and provides consultant work when called upon He’s also affiliated in in the industry’s state and and local associations along with many civic and and fraternal organizations throughout the State He is is an an avid racquetball player and enjoys being with his his family in in in Old Saybrook in in in his his leisure time He is is is is is married to Judy Maguire Cicalese His daughter Cara Flaherty and and and her her husband Mike live in in South Windsor CT and and and their son Steven resides in in New Canaan Nicholas F F Cognetta Jr Co-Owner/Funeral Director/Embalmer
