 Wedding Planning Guide
CHOOSING YOUR
wedding rings
Choosing your wedding bands is often a task that is left behind, as whatever the style of
your wedding, the overwhelming excitement of organizing venues, caterers and of course the dress is bound to take over! However, wedding bands should be considered soon after the engagement, so you don’t have to rush through it. The wedding band will be the finishing touch to your bridal or wedding jewelry and it’s the symbol of love and commitment that both of you will wear.
Choosing your wedding band requires a similar process as the engagement ring – setting
a budget, being armed with all the relevant knowledge and having an idea on style, will give you confidence, allowing you to enjoy the buying experience a lot more. Give yourself at least two months to browse and think about your options.
If you’re both pleased with the engagement ring, consider purchasing the wedding bands from the same jeweller, to save you looking around too much. Do you want simple or elaborate wedding bands and do you plan to match the metal of the engagement ring or choose a contrasting metal? You’ll also want to discuss whether you’d like your wedding bands to match each other.
Think about your lifestyle and how often you plan on wearing the bands too. If you plan on wearing it every day, you’ll want something comfortable, with smooth edges that won’t catch on anything. You can look into more detailed, ornate design if you’ll only wear your bands on special occasions.
