• Choose burial or cremation
• Select a casket or urn
• Choose the location and type of service
• Decide whether you would like to have
a viewing
• Suggest flowers to include in the
arrangement
• Select which photographs and
memorabilia you would like to display
• Consider any customs, traditions or religious rites that are important to you
and your family
• Suggest the clothing you’d like to be
dressed in (make sure it is still the correct
size)
• Select music and hymns, if desired
• Select a style for your stationary and
memorial book
• Brainstorm any additional ways you
would like to personalize the service or pay tribute to your accomplishments, hobbies, personality and life story
Participants
• Choose a clergy member or Life Celebrant to officiate the service
• Select any musicians whose talents you would like to employ, if desired
• Suggest pallbearers
• Choose friends or family members to
perform the eulogy, read scripture or a poem
Cemetery
• Choose a cemetery
• Select a burial or cremation plot, or a
niche, if appropriate
• For cremation, decide between an
above or below ground interment
for the urn
• Select a memorial or grave marker
and inscription
