Michael A. Connell was born in Huntington before the turn of the century and was raised and educated there. He was a proud veteran of World War 1 and a accomplished cornet plater who played “taps” every Veterans Day at 11am for all deceased veterans. After the war, he attended the world renowned Dr. Renourd School of Embalming in New York City returning to Huntington in 1923 to establish the M.A. Connell Funeral Home. Mike married a nurse Florence Mcintyre in 1930 and in 1931 they built the Funeral Home at its current location. The Home is now run by his sons John and Peter, and Grandsons Michael and Nick Berghela.
Since 1923 the Funeral Home has become a place
“Where Caring is a Family Tradition”.
