INCOME TAX 2016
Important note: During the months of May until the end of June 2017, all residents and non-residents in Spain must file their personal annual income during 2016, regardless of the country of origin. If you are classified as a non-resident in Spain for tax purposes but your own urban real estate is in this country then your are obliged to pay non-resident income tax. If the property belongs to a married couple, or to more than one person, each person is an independant tax payer and must file an individual tax return.

RENTAL APARTMENTS
Since May 11th 2016, anyone owning any apartments intended for tourist rental with a seasonal time of less than two months, are required to register in the Registery of Tourist Apartments at the Ministery of Tourism and Sport, Andalucia. To do this, the property must meet certain standards in order to continue trading by registering register.

If you are a non-resident and rent, or intend to your property in Spain, you are obliged to present the income rental statement of non- residents, from those rentals.
This statement should be made annually, quarterly or monthly, depending on whether the rent is short or long term.
