252 Musicians for Mahler
On April 21, 2018 over 250 musicians landed on the stage of the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts in Virginia Beach. GSA Instrumental and vocal musicians collaborated with James Madison University to perform the iconic Symphony No. 2 of Gustav Mahler.
This epic event was spearheaded by department chair Jeffrey Phelps and was a combined effort among four departments in two institutions. The results were an amazing performance that challenged and uplifted all of the students and a lasting relationship with JMU.
