Greetings Brothers of the Michigan District,
On behalf of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Theta Zeta Lambda
Chapter—known proudly as the Ann Arbor Alphas—it is my distinct
pleasure to welcome you to the 2024 Michigan District Conference here
in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We are honored to host you at Washtenaw
Community College on Saturday, November 16, 2024, for a day that
promises to be both impactful and inspiring.
The theme for this year’s conference, Standing on Business: Built Through
Brotherhood, speaks to our collective dedication to the work and legacy
of Alpha. For decades, Theta Zeta Lambda has been steadfast in its
commitment to serving our local Washtenaw County and broader communities while guiding and mentoring
the undergraduate Brothers at the University of Michigan’s Epsilon Chapter and Eastern Michigan University’s
Epsilon Eta Chapter. Our work here is rooted deeply in the ideals of service, leadership, and brotherhood, and it
is our hope that this conference reflects those ideals.
Throughout this gathering, let us renew our fraternal spirits, strengthen our bonds, and re-energize our
commitment to service and advocacy in our communities. We are at a pivotal moment in the history of our
nation and in the life of our Fraternity. It is our charge to be catalysts for change, leaders in our communities,
and unwavering supports for our Brothers.
May this year’s conference provide not only the knowledge and resources to continue our mission but also
an enduring sense of unity and purpose. We hope you leave here motivated to uplift Alpha in your respective
communities, advancing our cause and the values that bind us together as men of distinction.
Fraterally,
Travis L. Martin, Ph.D.
