     CHARLES’ BIO
“Fate is only fatal to those who choose to view their Destiny as something to lose.” This quote was written by Eric Lamar Brantley in his poem “Destiny.” This quote was very meaningful to me when I first became a member of the Alpha Esquire Leadership and Mentoring Pro- gram. It taught me to stay strong and to work towards success, and to not assume failure
is ahead. This was only one of the valuable pieces of knowledge from the Esquire Program and high school that I received.
My name is Charles Kelley; I am an 18 year old graduate of Grand Blanc High School.
My parents are Pamela and Jason Kelley. I plan on attending Michigan State University
to study kinesiology to become a radiologist. During my time in school I participated in cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track. This year our sprint medley relay team took eighth place at Michigan Indoor Track Series. I was also fortunate enough to be accepted into the National Honors Society based on my academic achievements. Along with those achievements I participated in two job shadows at McLaren Hospital in Flint, Michigan.
I am also very proud to have been chosen to be this year’s Vice President for the Alpha Esquire Leadership and Mentoring program. These four years have meant a lot to me and I was fortunate enough to have great parents and mentors in my life to make my success possible.
