Teen CEO:
Teens Creating Economic Opportunity (Teen C.E.O.), funded by C.S. Mott Foundation.
This Seven-week summer program is held at the Regional Technology Center on Mott’s Main Cam- pus. The program is for youth ages 14-18 and runs from June through August. Students meet 4 days a week Monday through Thursday 9:00am until 2:00pm breakfast and lunch provided.
The program provides Genesee County youth the
opportunity to take a business idea and develop
it into a business plan. The program focuses on
entrepreneurial skills, abilities and attitudes; and
prepares participants for what is required to be-
come a part of this new economy. Participants will
also network with local business professionals for mentoring and job shadowing experiences.
A “Showcase” and Mid-term Shark Tank event will give the participants an opportunity to display their businesses to friends, family, area business owners and the community. At the conclusion of the program, participants will have an understanding of what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur and have the potential to receive seed money to start their business.

• Business Etiquette
• Public speaking. Life skills including self-esteem, problem solving, leadership, teamwork, time management, presentation, competition, and financial literacy
Core elements of this program include:
• Writing a business plan,
• Marketing business,
• Developing work strategies,
• Sharing responsibilities,
• Solving conflicts
• Managing money
• Punctuality
• Dependability
Eligibility Requirements:
• 14-24 years old
• Live in Genesee County
• Attend Flint Schools or Alternative Schools
• Parent or Guardian must accompany youth to mandatory orientation
