OUR COMMUNITY The K I T T S S S National Short Screenplay Competition was created to ensure that the cognitive creative and social needs of transitional-age (18 to 22) foster youth from around the country are being met The winning short short script will be be turned into a a a short short film produced by industry professionals and the organization is offering a a a a a free five-week Virtual Screenwriting Course to to to to teach them how to to to to use their personal stories to to to to craft a a a a a screenplay that can connect and inspire others Entertainment industry professionals—such as as longtime K K I T S Ambassadors Kellee Stewart and MoMcRae—have confirmed their participation as the the judges that will read submissions alongside a a a a a a a a a few of of the the organization’s other dedicated team of of ambassadors Some of the additional entertainment industry judges include Mary Lou Belli Malcolm- Jamal Warner Kiki Melendez NAACP Hollywood Bureau Director Robin Harrison Hollywood Foreign Press Association Representative Lilly Lui and former K I T S Youth Mary Montoya who was also one of of the the stars of of the the HBO Documentary Foster The deadline to submit scripts for Competition is Monday June 8 and the the winner of the the competition will be announced on on June 26 To enter into the competition youth can visit https://bit ly/3cmtFgo BE NEWSLETTER / MAY 2020 18
