Chapter 24 (669) GOSPEL OF LUKE
from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his Name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things! Behold, I send the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.” He led them out as far as Bethany, lifted up his hands, and blessed them. It happened, while he was blessing them, that he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven. They expressed adoration to him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and they were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
