Chapter 1 (679) GOSPEL OF JOHN
Lamb of God!” The two disciples heard him speak, and they began to follow Jesus. Turning and seeing them following, Jesus asked them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi,” (which translated means Teacher), “where are you staying?” Jesus said to them, “Come and see!” They came therefore and saw where he was staying, and they remained with him that day. (It was about the tenth hour). One of the two who heard John and who began to follow Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first found his own brother, Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah!” (which translated means Christ). Andrew brought him to Jesus who looked at him, and said, “You are Simon the son of Jo- nah. You shall be called Cephas,” (which trans- lated means Peter).
