word which Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” He went out and wept bitterly. In the morning, all the chief priests and the presbyters of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death; they bound him, led him away, and delivered him up to Pontius Pilate, the governor.
