First Gospel: According to John, Per. 46:
The Lord said to His Disciples: “Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him. If God has been glorified in him,
God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him at once. Children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will seek me, and now I tell you just as I told the Jews, Where I am going, you cannot come. I give you a new command- ment: that you love one another! Just as I have loved you, love also one another. This is how ev- eryone will know that you are my disciples: if you have love for one another.” Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus replied, “Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but later you shall follow me.” Peter asked, “Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you!” Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for me? Amen, amen, I tell you; before the rooster crows, you will disown me three
