As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself un- less it remains in the vine, neither can you, unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches! Whoever remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me, you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown out as a branch and is withered.
