The Wedding That Didn’t Happen—Myshkin and Nastasya,

On their nuptial day, Myshkin stands in the church, anticipating Nastasya in her splendid wedding attire. Yet, Nastasya experiences a change of heart. Feeling unworthy to wed the prince, who she deems too virtuous for her sullied self, she escapes in her bridal gown. Despite this, the artist envisions them as a unified pair.
