Saint Porphyrios: The Love of Saint Porphyrios
These prayers are first and foremost inspired by Saint
Porphyrios of Kafsokalyvia!
The love of Saint Porphyrios for Christ and his Christ-
like love for us was a transformative experience! This two-
fold yet unique love was taught to us by Saint Porphyrios
through his actions, his works, and his graceful words!
Through his deep love for Christ, Saint Porphyrios gained
an intimate and direct closeness with Him! This intimacy
is what he wanted to inspire in us as well!
“Christ is our friend, He is our brother, and He says it:
‘You are my friends.’ I do not want you to see me differ-
ently, I do not want you to see me as someone else—as
God, as the Word of God, or as one of the persons of the
Holy Trinity. I want you to see me as yours, as your friend,
to embrace me, to feel me in your soul—Me, who am the
source of life, the way the truth is.”
And he would say, with this Love for Christ, to over-
come demonic temptations! Not to fight the temptations
