Prayer B o ok
Lord, let me not be
blinded by admiration
Lord, let me not be blinded
by the admiration of people.
Let me not be deceived by the desire
for people to worship me.
Lord, let me not be deceived
by my self-love through the love of people for me.
Lord, give me the strength to endure not being loved
by people
but to be loved only by You.
Lord, let no vain, deceitful, temporary human love
ever overshadow Your Love.
May my soul never delight in the worshipful gaze of
admiration from people,
but truly fly and soar with longing and desire for
You!
May my heart never again worship a person vainly
and proudly, craving recognition, admiration, and
glory for myself.
