as he dies, he beholds the heavens opened and the Son of Man
in glory (Acts 7:55–60). The Cross is not separated from the
Kingdom; suffering is transfigured into glory.
For this reason, the Eucharist remains always a feast. Even
when it remembers death, it proclaims life. Even when it re-
calls sacrifice, it reveals resurrection.
It is, in truth, a festival—not of memory, but of the future.
