The Lord’s words are meant to take root within us—not as
something imposed from the outside, but as a way of life that
leads to what is true and lasting. And we learn, gradually, to
face evil not through self-reliance, but through prayer and
fasting—with a strength that seems quiet, yet is stronger than
anything: the strength of love.
