In this movement—from gift to return, from origin to ma-
turity—we see how the Church lives. What is given is received
in freedom; what is received is offered again. And in this com-
munion, the unity of the Church is preserved, not as unifor-
mity, but as the life of many Churches, bound together in one
faith, one Eucharist, and one history guided by God.
