world today.
In such a world, Orthodoxy is called to live and to offer its
witness. It does not reject the achievements of modernity, but
it challenges their absolutization. It affirms the human person
as a being of communion, not an isolated individual; it sees
creation not as a resource to be exploited, but as a reality to be
transfigured. It offers a vision in which the material and the
spiritual, the individual and the community, are held together
in unity.
In a world dominated by utility and efficiency, Orthodoxy
reminds us of mystery, of the sacramental character of exis-
tence, and of the transcendent dimension of life. It proposes a
way of life rooted in communion, capable of healing fragmen-
tation and restoring meaning to human existence.
