the rest of creation. Species disappear, climates change, eco-
systems collapse, because humanity treats creation as posses-
sion rather than communion. The ecological crisis reveals
with particular force that the human being cannot survive as
an autonomous entity detached from its relationships. It dem-
onstrates that the existential consequences of modern anthro-
pology threaten not only spiritual life, but the very survival of
humanity.
The domination of technology is therefore not simply a
practical problem; it is an anthropological and theological
one. It reveals the deep crisis of a civilization that has defined
humanity apart from God, apart from nature, and apart from
communion. Unless the human being rediscovers itself as
relational—existing only in communion with God, with oth-
ers, and with creation—technology will no longer serve hu-
manity, but humanity will become servant to technology itself.
