upset with the two brothers. However, Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and great ones make their authority felt. But it shall not be so among you! Instead, whoever desires to become great among you shall be your ser- vant. Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Behold, two blind men were sitting by the road, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, son of David!” The crowd re- buked them and told them to be quiet, but the blind men cried out even more, “Lord, have mercy on us, son of David!” Jesus stood still and called them, asking, “What do you want me to do for you?” They told him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened!” Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes, and immediately their eyes
