&A Q. When did you first become a volunteer?
Betty: In 1976.
Q. What made you decide to volunteer?
Betty: I volunteered previously in North Carolina and enjoyed it, so I decided to volunteer again when I moved back to Thomaston.
Q. What is your favorite part about being a volunteer?
Betty: The comradery with the other volunteers and being able to serve others. Q. What are the benefits of being a volunteer?
Betty: You get to bring a smile to people’s faces.
Q. What advice do you have for those that want to be a volunteer?
Betty: Always be kind and courteous to anyone who comes through the door. We are the first people that they see.
