In fiscal year 2024, the Department of Internal Trade (DIT) fulfilled its responsibilities and supported the government’s core policies by maintaining price and market stability for agricultural products, creating opportunities and increasing income for local economy, and easing the cost-of-living burden while fostering public confidence. These efforts were made to promote, support, and develop domestic trade to ensure efficiency and fairness. The DIT’s key achievements include:

Ensuring Price and Market Stability for Agricultural Products
1) Convening commodity-specific committee meetings The DIT arranged meetings of committee for various commodities - including rice, cassava, maize for animal feed, oil palm, and other agricultural goods - to establish policy frameworks, work plans, and management measures to maintain price stability and support farmers and agricultural institutions. Key highlights are as follows:
