Message from the Director-General
The Department of Internal Trade (DIT) remains steadfast in its mission to maintain price stability for goods and services, alleviate the cost of living for the public, and foster fairness within the domestic trading system. At the same time, the DIT continues to strengthen community-based economies while advancing the modernization of operational frameworks and relevant laws to align with today’s evolving context. Emphasis is also placed on public education regarding the principles of smart consumption and responsible spending, as well as the elevation of metrological practices to international standards. These efforts are aimed at enhancing the fluidity and fairness of domestic trade and supporting the overall growth of the national economy in a robust, stable, and sustainable manner-amidst an increasingly volatile and uncertain global economic and trade environment.
