“Blockchain is often described as ‘the Internet of Value’, a new overlay on the underlying Internet or ‘the Internet of Information,’ wrote Citi analysts. “An economic difference between the Internet and Blockchain, at least for now, is that the financial value capture in the latter is in the protocols and not the application layer.
