West Central Singers is an adult mixed chorus
with members from Willmar and the surrounding communities. The director is Mr. John D. Jahr, who is also the Minister of Worship and Music at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. The group generally presents concerts in the fall and spring and sings for special events throughout the year.
The mission of the West Central Singers is to provide an opportunity to explore and experience the depth and power of choral music, both for those with a passion
to sing and for those who are enriched simply by listening. We are dedicated to performing a wide variety of music as a means of fostering a true appreciation for the long-standing tradition of choral music.
The Willmar Area Arts Council’s mission is to promote the arts in West Central Minnesota. They produce two big events each year, Studio Hop - a self-guided studio tour in June, and Celebrate Art! Celebrate Coffee! a
fall fine arts festival. They host exhibits at WEAC June through December and themed, invitational exhibits that run in conjunction with the current play at the
Barn Theatre. They also offer classes for children and adults. For more information about the Council, please visit their website at www.WillmarAreaArtsCouncil.org or call them at 320 235-8560.
