FROM THE DEN – Letter from the Editor
SEPTEMBER 2016
ever, I know I was running a mild fever and had sore mus- cles aches along with an up- set tummy.
And last weekend I was help- ing move my daughter and her husband. Moving is not good on ones body and I am being reminded of that. Lastly, I have hidden the lion cub for someone with a keen eye to find. So if you
find little Leo here
(shown on the right)
give me a holler in anyway you can so I can add you to Septembers drawings.
Enjoy!
Editor’s Note: School is back in session and summer is nearing the end for the year. Can you believe it is already September. Pumpkins and other squash should be filling our shelves. I love Butter Cup Squash with some butter and a sprinkle of Cinnamon and brown sugar. I can look for- ward to turning off our A/C and snuggling in my afghan watching a light movie, drink- ing hot tea or Cocoa. I guess as I get older I seem to appre- ciate autumn more. I know I used to enjoy summertime, but down here in the south it gets HOT!! And the Bugs!!! Nope it’s hard for this gal to

The Optic Photo Screening System
On Aug 6th Daniel Berry vis- ited our club offering his knowledge of RV Instrument – “The Optic Photo Screening System”. He told us of the one day training which is free from the state, which is needed to successfully screen Infants & Children. He made usawareof2–3%ofthe population has Amblyopia (Lazy Eye), and 5 – 10% of children have a vision prob- lem which if caught early
enough can be treated successfully, with no
treatment. Adding that
some vision problems
may result in blindness.
Schools don’t start
screening children until
they are about 7 years old and then it is with an Eye Chart which mainly tests for Far Sight- edness. Screening takes 5 sec- onds and has been performed on children and infants as early as 6 months old.
