Sinai
St. Katherine’s Monastery - 1998
The protective enclosure in architecture is so
well demonstrated in the monastery of Santa Katerina in Sinai.
Whether it houses the ‘burning bush’ or not is of no personal interest. God is able to choose any bush for burning. However,
the structure is fascinating, seated at the foot of what is claimed
to be Mount Sinai. Not the highest in the area but nonetheless a spectacular expression of granite majesty.
