If we train our eyes, then beauty, quality and craftsmanship will arrest us. The Fountain of Sultan Qaythey is, arguably, one of the loveliest structures in Jerusalem. Often ignored, she
watches people pass her by or as they draw refreshment from her brass valves. The slightest inspection reveals a skilled artist
behind the proportions of line and moulding. Whichever side you look, this Mameluke building is a delightful inspiration.
