Jerusalem across the Kidron - 1997
The valleys to the south present the perfect podium.
This is my classical view of Jerusalem. Idealised, verging on the abstract, separated from trouble. The painting opposite was nearly discarded, but rescued in the bathtub with some vigorous use of a pan-scrubber and liberal application of acrylics blended with the first layers of the watercolour pigment. What was almost lost has become an enduring image.
